- Mill something ‘big’ (from 500 x 400 x 15 mm plywood, tools: 4 or 6 mm cylindrical cutter)
Project
Is it already 8.week? Time goes so fast and I am still not capable with Fusion. But we don´t give up and continue with new adventure. This week adventure takes place in new part of Strojovna. There is this monstrosity called CNC machine. From my understanding nobody is really qualified for working with this machine beside some special people (f.e. Krištof Půčejdl). This week we also got our little allotment of plywood to do something with - with my colleague Anna Svobodova (a.k.a tkanička) we decided to join our forces and make something together. The idea was to make a L-shaped shelf for microwave.
Design and Manufacturing
We did the design in the usual way in Fusion and added this beautiful flower as a detail.
I am not sure why the gatekeep this information but there is a function called "Arrange" (in Modify section) where you can arrange your 3D object to make it 2D.
The challange begane afterwards with "Manufacturing" Workflow. It is not so intuitive and I was not sure what I was doing majority of time. After consultation, we ended up with these settings: for faces CONTOUR, was holes BORE, for flower petals and details on faces POCKET.Postprocessing
As for postprocessing we sanded the one-piece parts to make them pleasant to the touch. Then we glued and screwed them together.
