Make Computer controlled machine
Zenbot
We were supposed to make in a group a computer controled machine. During lecute we saw this machine that draws on sand, it looked calming and not so hard to make in two weeks so we decided to make something simmilar.
Construction
If it wasn't apperant from my JVC website, I do quite frankly suck at software, electronics and everything else. So I decided to be in our "Construction" subgroup. The idea itself was simply to make something eyecatching.
Materials
We were able to use plywood (16 mm thickness) and plexiglass (5 mm thickness) from labs storage. For the printed components was used black PET-G. There was supposed to be also glass but it did not arrive on time.
Methods
In the model below you can see the design itself. Upper part is where all the hardware is hiden. It consists of 2 wooden pieces (both cut on CNC - outer diameter 60 cm), holes were made in the upper piece for small magnetts. We also 3D printted 10 walls - on one side were bigger holes (5 mm) for magnetts and on other 2mm holes to screw the walls to the wooden base. Aproximatelly in the center is located plexiglass that were sealed with help of silicon - plexiglass (58 cm diameter) itself was also cut on CNC.
You probably also did notice the legs and its uniqueness. It is alluminium rod with square profile. And yes, it was hard to make in Fusion. Legs are stable mainly because of middle part (3D printed) that keep everything together.
For aestetical reason the last wooden ring was added (50 cm diameter, plywood of thickness 16 mm).
